Bill Gardner is a Long Island native who brings his creative vision and calm nature as he works behind the camera. He is noted for his ability to put people at ease and to bring about a fun and genuine experience to his clients. He is truly a gifted artist who specializes in Theatrical and Commercial Headshots and Family, Adult, and Children’s Portraiture.

In 1978, Bill decided to do some photographic work for family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers. He soon became known as the guy who took great pictures of everyone’s kids. And that was the start. Professional Photography was underway. Our current business is restricted to custom Headshots, Portraiture, and Photo Restorations. However, we will often accept projects outside of those areas.

Bill loves working with Children, Adults, entire Families, and Seniors. He works with clients on both the North Fork and the western Hamptons region of Long Island’s South Fork. He also travels to other areas of Long Island upon request.

Bill is also Landscape Photographer with most of his work taken throughout the North Fork of Long Island. Landscape images are perfect for decorating your home or office. Bill will work with you to select the perfect Landscape Photograph from his private collection, or he can create a Landscape Image based upon your specific requirements. Bill spends much time attending professional seminars and training to keep abreast of all the latest innovations in photography. He takes his craft seriously and is always looking to improve his knowledge and artistry of this exciting medium. He sincerely believes that in this industry, you never stop learning and you never stop growing as an artist.

Bill is an active member of Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and Professional Photographer’s Society of New York State (PPSNYS). He’s also affiliated with The Society of Wedding & Portrait Photographers (a UK organization).

About Bill Gardner Photography

Bill Gardner Photography (known to our client family as “BGPhoto”) is a location photography service located on the North Fork of Long Island, New York. We serve most of the East End of Long Island (All of the North Fork and Southampton Township on the South Fork). We are also happy to travel to any other areas of Long Island for a small additional fee.

Our specialty is Professional Headshots as well as Custom Family, Adult, and Children Portraiture. Our business model for Portraiture is to create beautiful Custom Wall Art and Handcrafted Heirloom Photo Albums for the home or office, but we also offer Digital Files. Professional Headshots is normally provided by Digital File. Our clients have the option to have us produce prints from the digitals or they may choose to have the prints made at a vendor of their choice.

We schedule Photo Sessions (Headshot or Portrait/Family) Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM. Weekends or other weekday hours may be made by special arrangement, subject to availiblity. Free Planning Sessions (required prior to any Photo Session) are scheduled during normal hours on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday PLUS Wednesday evenings from 7 PM to 9 PM. Headshot Planning Sessions are normally conducted by phone. Portrait/Family Planning Sessions are normally conducted in person at your home or at any convenient location of your choice if it is impossible to conduct the session at your home.

Most of our business comes from word of mouth. We are, and always have been, a location studio. We do not have a brick-and-mortar studio location. As such, we bring our unique studio experience to you wherever it is most convenient to you: in your home, at a coffee shop, in a quiet park, at the beach…virtually anywhere!

Since BGPhoto is not a walk-in studio, we operate exclusively on a “By Appointment Only” basis. Just like a retail studio, we will show you actual samples of our work and the various products that we offer. We will bring them to you during the Portrait Planning Session, or any other time should you decide to have an actual Portrait Photo Session. Tangible products (other than optional prints) are not a part of our Headshot service.

Why We Suggest and Promote Prints and Albums

Although we offer prints and digital files, we highly suggest that our clients invest in actual print products, especially for our Portraits line of business. While making prints of digital files is certainly possible, our experience shows that most clients do not do that. The digital files just sit in a drawer. Having digital files made for Social Media is a good option, but what happens if that Social Media site decides to close down? Digital technology has changed a lot over the years. What used to be commonly used is no longer even available.

Our home base is the Aquebogue area of the North Fork of Long Island, but we service most of Long Island’s East End. And for an additional travel-fee, we’ll come to you anywhere else in Nassau or Suffolk County. We work Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 5 PM, and Wednesday evenings from 7 to 9 PM. We are available by appointment only. There is absolutely no need for you to travel to us; we always come to you!
